Into the Field: Panama

Over the past few years, the Owl hollow congregation has had a growing support in the mission work that takes place in the nation of Panama. Each year Owl Hollow sends a group of its members into the sister nation of Panama to conduct a medical mission effort. These week long clinics provide not only an opportunity for physical healing, but create an opportunity to share the Gospel of Christ with those who are happy and willing to hear it. The clinic partners with a local congregation so that any converted will instantly be plugged into a congregation and can become involved in the work that is taking place.

We are happy to announce that this year we are send three of our own into the fields of Panama: Brandon Arnold, Barry Green, and Dan Williams. These three men will be conducting various jobs throughout the week. Barry Green, an elder at Owl Hollow, has traditionally seen the pharmacy in the temporary clinics, and can attest to the impact that these outreaches have. On average, the clinics  sees close to 500-1000 people. Most of those who come are looking for medicine to treat problems like intestinal worms or in need of a tooth extraction.

The beautiful thing about the people of Panama is their willingness and openness when it comes to discussing their own faith. They will gladly share their religious upbringing and experiences, but are also open to discussing what the Bible has to say. These deeply religious and passionate people want to find what God desires for their life, and we have a responsibility as believers to share our faith.
